It is with great appreciation and gratitude that Summit Players Theatre is announcing Executive Director Hannah Klapperich-Mueller will be transitioning from her role on the administrative team to a new position on the board of directors. After five years of dedicated service, Hannah will be pursuing new creative opportunities in the city of Bristol in the United Kingdom, while continuing to provide guidance for Summit Players Theatre in a new capacity.
Hannah’s original idea to tour Shakespeare plays through the Wisconsin state parks lit the spark for what was to become Summit Players Theatre, and she has worked tirelessly to build the company into the growing non-profit organization that it is today, providing free, state-wide theatre experiences for audiences across Wisconsin each year. She has both acted in and produced each of the five Shakespeare in the State Park tours, and has fostered relationships with parks, families, and funders around the state.
She has shared her passion for making art and theater accessible for people of all income levels through her work with the company, and will continue to share her drive and dedication in her new role on the board. As is often true in times of transition, the Summit team is sad to see Hannah move on from the leadership of the company, but we are pleased that she will remain involved in guiding the organization which was built with her vision and energy. To read her thoughts on leading the company through the past five seasons, please see her end-of-season blog post.
Plans are in progress for the sixth season, which promises to be a continuation of what audiences have come to love about the Summit Players, while introducing exciting new directions for the company. We are enthusiastic for the future, and look forward to sharing further news about Hannah’s successor and the new leadership of the company.
We would like to thank Hannah for the dedication, passion and motivation she has given to Summit Players Theatre. We look forward to following her new adventures, and are hopeful and excited for the next chapter of Summit Players Theatre as we work to share empowering theatre experiences with communities around Wisconsin.
