Announcing Our New Executive Director: A.J. Magoon

We are pleased to announce that A.J. Magoon has been selected as the new Executive Director of Summit Players Theatre. A.J. will be taking over the position from Hannah Klapperich-Mueller, who served for five years and is now a member of our board of directors.

A.J. originally joined the company during its inaugural season, and acted in our 2015, 2016 and 2017 productions. After Summit Players Theatre become a non-profit organization, he began working with us administratively as well, first as the Marketing Director and most recently as the Managing Director. He is no stranger to the Milwaukee theatre scene, and has acted with a number of companies in the city.

Passion for Summit Players Theatre and the good it does across the state shines through A.J.’s work with the company. He has been instrumental in building relationships with organizations that have supported past tours, including the Wisconsin Arts Board, the Wisconsin Humanities Council, Travel Wisconsin and others. He connected with audiences across the state as an actor and as our 2019 Tour Manager, helping to uphold the friendly, close-knit atmosphere we’ve worked to foster. The way he talks about Summit Players Theatre and its commitment to accessible, enjoyable, impactful theatre makes it clear that he’s a good choice for this position. He is a hard worker and dedicated to Summit Players Theatre’s success. After years on the administrative team, he has the knowledge and experience to keep this company on the positive track it’s been on.

Work continues on our sixth season, and we’ll have even more information for you soon about what’s coming in 2020. We will continue serving communities across the state and offering empowering theatre experiences to audiences regardless of background or income. We look forward to this exciting new chapter in the growth of our company.
